Alexander J Hilton
Loaf at First Sight
Loaf at First Sight
This painting celebrates the simple pleasure of a freshly cut sourdough loaf, from the smell of warm bread to the sound of the crust breaking beneath the knife. It was inspired by the belief that there is nothing better than a fresh loaf of bread, with its crisp outer shell, the softness of the dough, and the quiet comfort of something made to be shared. Solo permanent residency at Midsummer House, the two-Michelin-starred Cambridge restaurant; upcoming solo show at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall.
