Sir Ian Byatt

Ian Byatt is a retired economist and regulator. He worked in the Treasury and was the first Director-General of Ofwat in 1989. He began painting in the 1970s when he realised that there was more to life than economics. He started in the City Lit, where he was taught not to draw objects but the spaces between them.

He painted for many years with the established artist Michael Horn at his London classes and his studio in Felmingham, Norfolk. Working with Michael, Ian developed his own abstract style, initially depicting domestic situations and rooms, moving onto more esoteric compositions of life and society.

Kate Kelly

Kate was born in India and spent her childhood there. Inspired by the rich pallet of colours, patterns and form, she developed her interest in painting. Now living in the UK, and painting on the North Norfolk coast and in Scotland, she paints with subtle and muted qualities. She combines these worlds in an abstract expressionist style.
