This small-scale observational study is of a very familiar, everyday subject - that of a section of roofing. Here, seen at a slight angle, this recognisable iconography is subjected to translation into the language of the painted image. It becomes something considered, arranged and felt by hand. This wonderfully characterful picture is a great introduction to the world of Aaron Jolley.
