Big Ted is a portrait of Aaron Jolley’s childhood teddy bear, painted with tenderness. Big Ted is a painting about an out-grown relationship. Just what do you do with an object you deeply love but don’t feel you have an active need for? The process of painting the picture took over a month to complete and is evident in the attention to the textural qualities of the painted fur.
